Steering Grid Bow Thruster

The Steering Grid Bow Thruster combines manoeuvrability, power and reliability in one compact design.
A horizontally mounted propeller directs the water flow towards a 360° rotatable steering grid, providing full thrust in any direction – without protruding parts below the hull.
The result: maximum manoeuvrability at minimal draught.

This configuration is ideal for inland vessels, workboats, patrol craft and other shallow-draft vessels with a flat bow section.
Its robust construction with an oil-bath lubrication system, bronze and stainless-steel components, and a low-maintenance design ensures long service life and high operational reliability.
The propeller can be replaced without dry-docking, minimising downtime.

Control is achieved via a combined lever, allowing simultaneous adjustment of propeller speed and grid angle.
Optionally, a fully integrated PLC-based control system is available, featuring remote service and autonomous-operation readiness, enabling remote optimisation or integration with automated manoeuvring and positioning systems.
