Channel Bow Thruster

The Channel Bow Thruster is an advanced manoeuvring solution that combines power, control, and flexibility in a single compact unit.
A horizontally mounted propeller draws water from beneath the vessel and directs it through a rotatable thrust drum into one of the channels – or, if desired, through two simultaneously.
This creates directional thrust that is ideal not only for precise manoeuvring but also for low-speed propulsion and positioning.

The Channel Bow Thruster is particularly suited for inland vessels, workboats, ferries, and other shallow-draught ships with a flat bow section.
The system has no protruding parts below the hull, provides low resistance during sailing, and delivers a strong, direct jet even in minimal water depth.
Its robust construction, sealed oil-bath system, and low-maintenance design ensure reliable operation and maximum availability.

Control is achieved via a combined lever, allowing simultaneous adjustment of propeller speed and thrust direction.
Optionally, a fully integrated PLC-based control system is available, featuring remote service and autonomous-operation readiness, enabling seamless integration with modern manoeuvring and positioning systems.
